Life with a newborn was never meant to be done solo.

As a mother, and a Postpartum Doula, I understand that no matter how well planned or positive your experience, birthing a baby is strenuous.

Little acknowledgement is placed on the fact that with the birth of this beautiful baby, or babies, another birth has taken place, THE BIRTH OF A MOTHER!

A new mother may be struggling with feelings of shock, pain or overwhelm over her birthing experience, followed by instability and confusion, as she finds herself grappling with an identity crisis.

Who am I now?

Sleep deprivation, as well as physical and structural changes to the new mother’s body, compound this life-changing event.

She is trying to give herself time to recover but the demands of a newborn are relentless and all-consuming.

I want you to feel heard and held during this time and so it is with this intention that I have created these support packages for you.

Postpartum Doula Support Packages

There are three curated packages. Each have been carefully and thoughtfully designed to provide holistic continuity of care to enhance the joy, balance and calm of your postpartum. Of course, I can also create a package that is tailored to your needs and budget. Please get in touch if you have something specific in mind.

You can also choose to add-on extra visits at any time at additional costs.

Here are the inclusions that are offered in all of the packages.
The difference in the packages is the number of visits, duration of each session, and the extent of meals, massage and belly binding that can b
e achieved for each visit.

Following is a guide only. Every family is unique, which means needs will be different, and could indeed change from visit and visit.
And that’s okay! I’ll adapt!

Emotional Support

Becoming a mother is transformative!
I’m not just talking about the method of delivery of your baby, or your birth experience, although that is a big part of it…what I also want you to remember is that when a Baby is Born, the Mother also experiences a birth, and a shift of identity.
The new mother, who is understandably absorbed in the needs of her newborn, may struggle with feelings of confusion, emotional exhaustion and a general feeling of unsettle.

During these visits I will help you to understand the ways you have transitioned physiologically, hormonally and emotionally and nurture you as you navigate your way through these changes.

You can be sure of an empathic listening ear when you need to debrief, chat or cry, and a reassuring safe presence to facilitate your confidence in your parenting.

I will help you work with your baby brain (yes, this is real!) in a useful way, and increase your Oxytocin levels, a beautiful hormone that is released when we feel love & connection.

Cups of tea and hugs are included!

Physical Support

Birthing a baby is a physically fatiguing event, awkward positions can be held tightly in the body for numerous hours, and it’s common to feel ‘damaged’ and misaligned following birth.
I understand the physiology of pregnancy & birth, the adjustment to a birthing mother’s pelvic girdle and the common discomforts associating with spending long periods of time cradling and feeding your baby.

As a qualified and skilled Remedial Massage Therapist, I am able to bring my massage table to your home and give you a therapeutic massage.

In addition, I offer Postpartum Belly Binding, a traditional cultural practice to ‘wrap the mother as you do the baby’.
This practice may assist in involution (contraction) of the uterus, bringing organs and structures together, including abdominal separation and supporting posture to minimise back, pelvic and abdominal pain.

Practical Support

I will prepare and arrive carrying a home-cooked meal with emphasis on your Postpartum needs and leave it in your fridge, with some tea & lactation cookies.

I can take care of light household chores such as tidying up the kitchen, making beds with fresh linen and folding laundry.

I can sit with, or guide you, when you are feeding, bathing or settling your baby, and help you understand your baby’s cycle, body language and behavioural cues.

As a certified Baby Massage Instructor, I can teach you when and how to do baby massage.

Informational Support

Please be aware that you don’t need information overload at this time, the intention for any information provided is to build confidence in your own parenting style and to reinforce your own innate wisdom as your ‘baby’s expert’!

I can, however, offer tools and guidance to support your baby’s breastfeeding, sleep, settling and daily routines.

If you need additional support from an expert, I have a tool kit that provides a comprehensive list of services, resources, classes & treatments available in your local area. I have done the research for you, so you can focus on your own physical & emotional health and bonding with your newborn.

This includes, International Board Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), Pelvic floor Physiotherapists, Perinatal Psychologists, Naturopaths, Sleep Consultants, nannies and the like. I do the research for you, so that you can focus on your own physical and emotional health, as well as bonding with your baby.
